### Third-Party Services

This plugin optionally integrates with the following external services. These services
are only contacted when you explicitly enable the relevant feature in Settings.

#### Cloudflare Turnstile (optional)

When **Enable Turnstile for Guest Tickets** is set to Yes, the plugin:

 * Loads the Turnstile client-side script from Cloudflare’s CDN on the guest create-
   ticket page:
    https://challenges.cloudflare.com/turnstile/v0/api.js
 * Sends the visitor’s Turnstile response token and (optionally) their IP address
   to Cloudflare’s verification endpoint:
    https://challenges.cloudflare.com/turnstile/
   v0/siteverify

This means visitor data (browser fingerprint for the widget, and the IP address
used for server-side verification) is transmitted to Cloudflare. No data is sent
when Turnstile is disabled (the default).

 * **Service provider:** Cloudflare, Inc.
 * **Privacy Policy:** https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/
 * **Terms of Service:** https://www.cloudflare.com/website-terms/

You are responsible for disclosing this data processing to your site visitors in
your own privacy policy when Turnstile is enabled.

#### IP geolocation for live chat (optional)

When **Enable Live Chat** is set to Yes and a visitor starts a chat, the plugin
may look up the visitor’s IP address to show city/region/country to agents:

 * `http://ip-api.com/json/{ip}`

No request is made when live chat is disabled (the default), the IP is private/reserved,
or a cached result already exists. Location is stored on the chat conversation for
the support agent.

 * **Service provider:** ip-api.com (IP-API)
 * **Privacy Policy:** https://ip-api.com/docs/legal

You are responsible for disclosing this data processing to your site visitors in
your own privacy policy when live chat is enabled.

## Instalación

#### Requirements

 * WordPress 6.2+
 * PHP 8.2+

#### Step-by-step install

 1. Upload the plugin folder to `wp-content/plugins/lucrativeit-support-ticket-plus/`,
     or install the ZIP from Plugins Add New Upload Plugin.
 2. Go to Plugins in WordPress admin and click Activate on LucrativeIt Support Ticket
     Plus.
 3. On activation, the plugin creates a Support Portal page with `[lucrativeit_support_portal]`
     and `[lucrativeit_live_chat]`. Existing portal pages that were missing the live
     chat shortcode get it added automatically.
 4. Open Pages All Pages, find Support Portal, and click View. Add that page to your
     menu under Appearance Menus so customers can find it.
 5. Configure the basics under Support Ticket Plus Settings (App Name, Ticket Prefix,
     Admin Notification Email, Max Attachment Size, Admin Ticket Options).
 6. Create departments under Support Ticket Plus Departments so tickets can be routed
     correctly. Enable Auto-assign for round-robin distribution among agents in that
     department.
 7. A default project named Any Project is created on install. Add more under Support
     Ticket Plus Projects. Customers select a project when creating a ticket; admins
     can filter the ticket list by project.
 8. (Optional) Configure Support Hours under Support Ticket Plus Settings General
     Support Hours: enable the login-screen status widget, set timezone, working days,
     start/end times, and optional online/offline override.
 9. (Optional) Enable Live Chat under Support Ticket Plus Settings Live Chat. Choose
     a department, round-robin assignment, and whether to show knowledge base Q&A when
     all agents are busy. The default Support Portal page already includes `[lucrativeit_live_chat]`;
     you can also place that shortcode on any other page. With Lucrative Support Ticket
     Pro active, open External Website Widget, add the domains where you want the chat,
     save, then copy the embed code onto those websites.
 10. (Optional) Grant staff permissions under Support Ticket Plus Roles. Every logged-
     in user is a customer by default. Grant the Tickets permission to a WordPress
     role (for example Editor) to make those users support agents. Grant the Projects
     permission to roles that should manage project titles.

#### Manual portal page (if needed)

If the Support Portal page was deleted:

 1. Pages  Add New
 2. Add the shortcode `[lucrativeit_support_portal]`
 3. Publish and link it from your menu

Knowledge base only (optional): `[lucrativeit_knowledge_base]`

Live chat (optional, after enabling it in Settings Live Chat): `[lucrativeit_live_chat]`
External live chat widget (Pro): add allowed domains under Settings Live Chat
External Website Widget, then copy the embed script.

#### Enable registration

Customers can register for an account, or submit tickets as a guest when Allow Guest
Tickets is enabled (Settings General Portal Access). Registration is controlled
in two places — both must allow sign-ups.

**A. WordPress membership (required for registration)**

 1. Go to Settings General (WordPress core settings, not the plugin).
 2. Enable Membership Anyone can register.
 3. Save changes.

**B. Plugin Auth setting**

 1. Go to Support Ticket Plus Settings Auth.
 2. Set Allow Registration to Yes.
 3. Click Save Changes.

To allow guest ticket submit without an account, go to Settings General Portal
Access and set Allow Guest Tickets to Yes.

New accounts receive the Subscriber role and can create and view only their own
tickets. Login details are emailed after registration (SMTP must be configured for
reliable delivery). Guest submissions create a customer account from the provided
email when needed and send a ticket confirmation.

#### Why SMTP and how to configure it

WordPress’s default mail() function often fails on shared hosting or lands in spam.
Support Ticket Plus sends email for registration confirmation, new ticket alerts,
reply notifications, and status/assignment updates. SMTP uses your mail provider’s
authenticated server so messages are delivered reliably.

 1. Go to Support Ticket Plus Settings SMTP.
 2. Fill in the fields from your mail provider (Gmail, Microsoft 365, cPanel, SendGrid,
    etc.): SMTP Host, Port (465 SSL or 587 TLS), Username, Password (prefer app passwords
    for Gmail), From Email, From Name, Encryption.
 3. Click Save Changes.

#### Set up a real WordPress cron job (recommended)

WordPress’s built-in WP-Cron only runs when someone visits your site. For reliable
delayed Instant Replies, SLA checks, and (with Pro) Gmail inbound polling, configure
a real server cron that hits `wp-cron.php` every minute:

 1. In your host’s control panel (cPanel, Plesk, etc.) or SSH crontab, add a job that
    runs every minute.
 2. Use a command like this (replace the URL with your site):
 3. */1 * * * * curl -s https://example.com/wp-cron.php?doing_wp_cron >/dev/null 2>&
    1
 4. Or with wget:
 5. */1 * * * * wget -q -O – https://example.com/wp-cron.php?doing_wp_cron >/dev/null
    2>&1
 6. (Optional but recommended) Disable the default visitor-triggered cron by adding
    this line to `wp-config.php` above the “That’s all, stop editing!” comment:
 7. define( ‘DISABLE_WP_CRON’, true );

Without a server cron, scheduled tasks still work, but they may run late on low-
traffic sites.

## Preguntas frecuentes

### How do I enable live chat?

Go to Support Ticket Plus Settings Live Chat and set Enable Live Chat to Yes.
Choose a department, optionally enable round-robin, and optionally show knowledge
base Q&A when all agents are busy. Place `[lucrativeit_live_chat]` on any front-
end page. With Lucrative Support Ticket Pro active, use External Website Widget
to approve domains and copy the embed code for other public or business sites. Agents
see Live Chat (all history) and My Chats in the admin menu. Keep a Support Ticket
Plus admin screen open so the agent is marked online.

### How do I embed the chat widget on another website?

Install Lucrative Support Ticket Pro, enable Live Chat, then open Settings Live
Chat External Website Widget. Add each website origin (for example `https://example.
com`), save settings, copy the embed code, and paste it before the closing `</body
>` tag on those sites. Only approved domains can load the widget.

### How do I make someone a support agent?

Go to Support Ticket Plus Roles and grant the Tickets permission to the WordPress
role that user has (for example, Editor). Alternatively, change the user’s WordPress
role to one that already has the Tickets permission. There is no separate “support
role” to assign.

### How do I add projects for tickets?

Go to Support Ticket Plus Projects and add a title for each project. Active projects
appear in the Project dropdown on the create-ticket form. Staff can filter tickets
by project on the Tickets screen.

### How do I find a ticket by ticket number or order number?

On Tickets or Closed Tickets (wp-admin or the support portal), use the search box
and click Apply. Search matches ticket number, order number, custom field values,
subject, and description. A leading # on the ticket number is optional.

### How do I set support opening hours?

Go to Support Ticket Plus Settings General Support Hours. Enable Show Support
Status on Login, choose a timezone, working days, and start/end times. You can force
Online or Offline temporarily (for example, holidays). When enabled, the portal
login screen shows live availability and Your Time / Our Time clocks.

### Will users who register on the front end be able to see other people’s tickets?

No. Front-end registrants get the Subscriber role, which is not granted the staff
Tickets permission, so they are customers who can only create and view their own
tickets and use their dashboard. To turn a user into staff, grant the Tickets permission
to their WordPress role on Support Ticket Plus Roles (or move them to a role that
has it).

### How do I show the support portal on my site?

Add the `[lucrativeit_support_portal]` shortcode to any WordPress page. On activation,
a Support Portal page is created for you.

### What is the email webhook URL?

Install the optional Lucrative Support Ticket Pro add-on, then go to Support Ticket
Plus Settings Email Ticketing. The REST endpoint and webhook secret are shown
there.

### Does Gmail inbound require a cron job?

With the Pro add-on, WP-Cron polls Gmail every minute by default. For production,
set a real server cron hitting wp-cron.php.

## Registro de cambios

#### 1.2.8

 * Added a setup window after activation with checkboxes to enable Live Chat, enable
   Support (Opening) Hours, and import demo tickets in every status (open, in progress,
   waiting for customer, on hold, reopened, resolved, closed). Demo tickets are
   offered only on new installs and send no emails.
 * Added a sound alert for new incoming chat messages. Staff hear it on any wp-admin
   page and inside Live Chat / My Chats; visitors hear it in the chat widget when
   an agent replies. Toggle it under Settings Live Chat Chat Sound Alerts.
 * Live Chat and My Chats menu counts now show in brackets, e.g. Live Chat (1),
   and update without reloading the page.
 * The admin chat console shows a loader while the chat list and a conversation
   load, and while a reply is being sent.
 * Fixed the unread count badge in the chat list and the close (×) button in the
   chat widget being distorted by theme styles.

#### 1.2.7

 * Added a separate Closed Tickets menu next to Tickets in wp-admin and the support
   portal. Tickets shows active work only; Closed Tickets shows Resolved and Closed.
 * Ticket lists now paginate and include a search filter for ticket number, order
   number, and custom field values.
 * Staff can bulk-change status from the ticket list.
 * The default Support Portal page now includes the `[lucrativeit_live_chat]` shortcode;
   existing portal pages that were missing it are updated automatically.
 * Added a default project named Any Project on install so customers can create
   tickets immediately.

#### 1.2.6

 * Settings General now uses sub-tabs for Guest Tickets, Shortcodes, Instant Reply,
   Support Hours, and Admin — each section moved out of the main General form for
   easier navigation.
 * Multiple templates option for frontend view.

#### 1.2.5

 * Added Live Chat: enable under Settings Live Chat, assign a department, optional
   round-robin, and knowledge-base Q&A when all agents are busy.

#### 1.2.4

 * Added Custom Fields: manage extra ticket form fields under Settings Custom Fields(
   text, textarea, dropdown, checkbox, number, email, URL). Values are collected
   on create and shown on ticket details.

#### 1.2.3

 * Added Projects: manage project titles under Support Ticket Plus Projects; customers
   select a project when creating a ticket; staff can filter tickets by project
   in admin and portal lists.
 * Added Support Hours (opening hours) under Settings General: timezone, working
   days, start/end times, status override, and optional live online/offline status
   with clocks on the portal login screen.

#### 1.2.2

 * Added Instant Reply (Settings General): optionally auto-post a configurable
   message to the ticket creator after a ticket is created, with merge-tag placeholders
   such as {{ticket_number}} and {{customer_name}}.
 * Added Reply Delay (minutes) so the auto-reply can be posted after a short wait
   for a more natural conversation timeline.

#### 1.2.1

 * Added optional Cloudflare Turnstile captcha for the guest ticket submission form(
   Settings General Cloudflare Turnstile). Secret key is stored encrypted. Includes
   third-party service disclosure in readme.
 * Added guest ticket submit on the free portal (Settings General Allow Guest
   Tickets).
 * Added signed magic links in customer ticket emails so recipients can view and
   reply without logging in.

#### 1.2.0

 * Added Edit and Delete actions on the Departments admin screen.

#### 1.1.9

 * Added Premium Upgrade admin page with Pro feature highlights and upgrade link.

#### 1.1.8

 * Added option for customers to change ticket status.
 * Updated readme.txt.

#### 1.1.7

 * Initial update

#### 1.1.6

 * Security: removed the in-plugin user create/edit/delete handlers entirely; account
   lifecycle is delegated to WordPress core (Users screen) so create_users, promote_users,
   and edit_users checks always apply.
 * Security: assign_role() no longer modifies WordPress core roles and only accepts
   known plugin role slugs stored in user meta.
 * Security: the Roles & Permissions screen and permission map updates now require
   manage_options.

#### 1.1.5

 * Security: fixed a privilege-escalation risk and hardened account/role handling—
   the plugin assigns permissions to existing WordPress roles instead of creating
   or granting core roles.
 * Added front-end AJAX login and registration on the support portal (modal), so
   customers no longer go to the WordPress admin to sign in.

#### 1.1.4

 * Maintenance release: minor bug fixes and stability improvements.
 * Verified compatibility with the latest WordPress release.

#### 1.1.3

 * Renamed plugin to LucrativeIt Support Ticket Plus.
 * Changed the support portal permalink to lucrativeit-support-ticket-plus (page
   slug and pretty-URL rewrite base).
 * Resolved Plugin Check errors: all custom-table queries now use $wpdb->prepare()
   with %i identifier placeholders, output escaping, and translators comments.
 * Removed the discouraged manual load_plugin_textdomain() call (translations load
   automatically).
 * Bumped minimum WordPress to 6.2 (required for the %i placeholder) and tested
   up to WordPress 7.0.

#### 1.1.2

 * Renamed plugin to LucrativeIt Help Desk and Ticket Manager (slug: lucrativeit-
   help-desk-ticket-manager).
 * Email template customization fully enabled in the free plugin.
 * Removed trialware / Pro upsell locks from core functionality.
 * Front-end attribution is now opt-in via Settings.
 * Attachment downloads now require a nonce.
 * Tested up to WordPress 6.9.

#### 1.1.1

 * Internal note visibility fixes, ticket URL fixes, attachment display, Pro feature
   split.

#### 1.0.0

 * Initial release.
