A read-only API key is created automatically behind the scenes. * **Automatic product feed** – Your catalog reaches Gun Made several times a day. Your products start appearing on gunmade.com within minutes #### Requirements * WordPress 5.0 or later * WooCommerce 5.0 or later * PHP 7.4 or later * HTTPS enabled on your store ### Third Party Services This plugin connects your WooCommerce store to [Gun Made](https://www.gunmade.com), an external product search engine for firearms, ammunition, and accessories. When you click “Connect to Gun Made”, the plugin: 1. Creates a read-only WooCommerce REST API key (visible in WooCommerce > Settings > Advanced > REST API) 2. Sends the following data to Gun Made’s servers at `plugins.gunmade.com`: 3. * Your store URL * Your email address * The API key credentials (consumer key and secret, used to read your product catalog) Once connected, Gun Made’s servers periodically read your product catalog to generate a product feed displayed on gunmade.com. With version 1.3 they download the catalog export this plugin builds (see “What is the Catalog export?” above) from two read- only endpoints on your own store, `/wp-json/wc-gun-made/v1/export/status` and `/ wp-json/wc-gun-made/v1/export/file`, authenticated with the read-only API key. The plugin itself sends no catalog data anywhere; Gun Made’s servers request it. Stores without a current export are read through the WooCommerce REST API as before. When you connect through this plugin, your dealer account is created automatically. ### Is my store data safe? Yes. Gun Made only requests read-only access to your product catalog. We never modify your store data, orders, or customer information. The API key created by this plugin is visible in WooCommerce > Settings > Advanced > REST API so you can verify its permissions at any time. ### How often does my product feed update? Automatically, several times a day. Stores with fewer than 10,000 products update every hour; larger stores update four times a day (around 7 AM, 11 AM, 3 PM and 8 PM Eastern). Price changes, stock updates, and new products appear on gunmade. com at the next update. ### What is the “Catalog export”? Version 1.3 builds a file of your published, in-stock products (including backorders) in the background with WooCommerce’s Action Scheduler, shortly before Gun Made reads it. Gun Made tells the plugin how often to rebuild it (for example every hour); only the plugin’s own API key can change that. The work runs in small steps with pauses between them, so shoppers do not notice it. The file contains the same product data Gun Made already reads through the WooCommerce API. It is stored in a private folder in your uploads directory, is never linked, and can only be downloaded with the read-only API key this plugin created. You can see its status on the WooCommerce > Gun Made page. ### Why is the catalog export needed? Reading a large catalog through the WooCommerce REST API takes one request per 100 products. A store with 80,000 products needs about 800 requests for every update, and some hosts treat that volume as an attack. With the export, an update is a few requests. ### Does it cost anything? Gun Made supports multi-location inventory. You can configure your store locations in the Gun Made dashboard after connecting. ### Can I control which products appear on Gun Made? Yes. You can map specific categories and configure your feed settings in the Gun Made dashboard. Products with UPCs will appear by default, and category mapping gives you maximum control over visibility. ### How do I disconnect? Go to WooCommerce > Gun Made and click “Disconnect from Gun Made” at the bottom of the page. This removes the API key and clears all connection data. ### What happens to the API key when I disconnect or uninstall? The read-only API key created by this plugin is automatically deleted when you disconnect or uninstall the plugin.
