Simply upload the plugin folder to your `/wp-content/plugins/` directory, activate it through the WordPress admin panel, and start managing your downloads from the left sidebar menu. ### Do I need to manually create download categories? Yes, it’s recommended to define download categories before adding your first download. This helps organize your files and provides better user navigation. ### Where are my downloads displayed on my website? All downloads are automatically displayed on `/cmdownloads/` and users can access their personal dashboard at `/cmdownload/dashboard/`. ### 🔒 Security & Access Control ### Can I protect downloads with passwords or user roles? The free plugin version includes comprehensive access control. You can define which user roles can upload, view, and download files. Setting password protection is available in Pro edition only. ### How do I control who can access specific downloads? You can set global permissions for user roles and also allow users to customize access settings for individual downloads. This gives you both broad and granular control over your content. ### Is it compatible with Multisite and page builders like Elementor or Divi? Yes! The plugin is fully compatible with WordPress Multisite and popular page builders including Elementor, Divi, and other major builders. ### 🎨 Customization & Styling ### How can I customize the look & feel of the plugin? The free version of CM Download Manager includes several basic options to adjust the plugin’s appearance. For more advanced customization, including the ability to fully override templates and gain complete design control, you can upgrade to the Pro version. ### Can I use a different URL structure instead of /cmdownloads? Yes. In the free version, you can create custom pages for your downloads, which lets you use an alternative structure instead of the default `/cmdownloads`. In the Pro version, you can also customize the permalink structure itself, aligning it with your SEO and branding needs. ### How does this plugin help organize files in WordPress? The plugin creates a professional, categorized file directory that automatically organizes your downloads with search functionality, user dashboards, and built-in support forums. It transforms scattered files into a structured, professional system. ### 💰 Pricing & Features ### What’s the difference between the free and Premium versions? The free version includes essential file management, user roles, basic shortcodes, and download tracking. The Premium version adds payment integration, advanced access control, file previews, detailed statistics, and many more enterprise features. ### Do I need to renew the license for the Premium version every year? Premium licenses include one year of updates and support. The plugin will keep working even if you don’t renew, but you won’t receive future updates or access to support until the license is renewed. ### Can I upgrade from the free version to Premium without losing data? Absolutely. All downloads, categories, and settings from the free version remain intact when you upgrade to Premium. You simply unlock additional features without having to start over. ## Reseñas ![](https://secure.gravatar.com/avatar/405ae9e583b1c9fbc5b89e0e35c5290420fa0438d4537d0c7d964dc94754155c? s=60&d=retro&r=g) ### 󠀁[Very complete and support is great](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/very-complete-and-support-is-great/)󠁿 [webmasterscr](https://profiles.wordpress.org/webmasterscr/) 5 de enero de 2024 All is in the title! 😉 ![](https://secure.gravatar.com/avatar/ada69656f0f1a3e0db5d37d0b1d389cd7ca2f1e6319da48f0a18de568440a2c6? s=60&d=retro&r=g) ### 󠀁[Poor customer service, no refund policy](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/poor-customer-service-no-refund-policy/)󠁿 [guyincognit0](https://profiles.wordpress.org/guyincognit0/) 5 de marzo de 2022 After installing the plugin it was very unresponsive on mobile, I had layout issues, pages overflowing outside the viewport width. Other than that it just has a very outdated look to it, which isn't shown on the CM website. The plugin looks like a site from the mid 2000s. I requested help multiple times from their support, to which they just respond with links to their documentation with no reference, and half the time the link they send doesn't even answer your query. After having a painful week back and forth with their support I asked for a refund as I had to seek another plugin that actually did as asked. They refused a refund, unsurprisingly once I asked for my money back they were very quick to respond telling me why I couldn't get my money back. They wanted me to reinstall the plugin so they could address the issues I had brought to their attention a week before, absolutely laughable. Their plugins do not do what they claim and require you to download and install no less than 3-4 add-on plugins to get the functionality it should have out of the box. Plus once you have the now 4-5 plugins installed you will find it is missing one or more basic features that it really should have. For this particular plugin just trying to customize the user front end was impossible and after several emails to support I was told they would do it for me at a rate of $60 per hours and a minimum of 12 hours. There are always better options for less out there so please do your research before purchasing anything from Creative Minds. Oh and there is no demo or trial period so again do not waste your money because they will fight you for a refund when you realize they lied and their plugin isn't capable of doing what you expected without hours of additional customization by their ridiculously slow "experts". ![](https://secure.gravatar.com/avatar/1bab30177726f8edda3e824618105178d0194c4cb010bade044ad3d517562e27? s=60&d=retro&r=g) ### 󠀁[Plugin work as expected](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/so-many-bugs-and-very-bad-support/)󠁿 [jassimamini](https://profiles.wordpress.org/jassimamini/) 31 de julio de 2019 Hello, Plugin works as expected.
